Practical, Compassionate Support
Caring for someone with an eating disorder or mental illness can feel overwhelming.
You might feel…
- You want to help, but aren’t sure what’s helpful anymore.
- Torn between stepping in and stepping back.
- Completely burnt out from trying to hold everything together.
That’s where mentoring can help, either with just you or your whole family to understand your current dynamic and how we can alter this to support everyone involved.
Watch my short video below to explain how mentoring works.
What is Mentoring?
My mentoring sessions offer personalised support for carers, parents, and family members navigating complex relational dynamics. I draw on over 20 years of lived experience, not as a clinician, but as someone who’s been in your shoes and has supported others through it.
This is not therapy, and I don’t offer advice about food or medication. Instead, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to reflect, learn, and explore practical tools that support both you and your loved one.
How It Works
Sessions last 60 minutes and take place via Zoom, phone, or in-person
- Attend alone or with your family
- Most people benefit from 3 – 4 sessions with time in between to reflect and practice
The support I offer is tailored to you and your relationships, working at your pace to ensure you get the best outcomes. Some people come along once for clarity and reassurance, others return at different points to work on different behaviours.
I am here for you, however that looks for you and your family.
What We Can Explore Together
Common topics include:
- Setting healthier boundaries without guilt
- Understanding and addressing codependent patterns
- Learning and practising active listening skills
- Navigating the emotional toll of caring
- Communicating with your loved one or the care team
- Reconnecting with your own identity and needs
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to turn, mentoring gives you the space to breathe and find a way forward.
What Others Say
“Thank you for all your help. Life still isn’t easy but it has been made a little easier and certainly more joyful with your advice!“
“Once again may I thank you for invaluable help you gave me by mentoring me. This undoubtedly helped me remain on track and understand and assess the rationale for my choices.”
Whether you’re just starting this journey or have been supporting your loves one for years, you deserve support too.
